How many times have you thought about doing something, only to stop and wait for the right circumstances or paralysed by fear of things going wrong? I still do this on occasion, even though I am preaching about it right now! It goes to show how powerful those thoughts are and how easy it is to slip into a life of mediocrity when you could be on the cusp of living your dream lifestyle.

Rather than going into too much detail planning first why not just try something and see if it works? I don’t mean throwing all your money into a business venture with no research, knowledge or advice. Just get the ball rolling and learn as you go. By starting something you are more likely to find inspiration and people who can & will help you in that area than you would by waiting for them to come along before you begin.

This is how The WSC started. I procrastinated for years about putting my music out there, worrying about whether it was ready to be heard or whether people would steal it or take advantage of it being free if I put it out there without some kind of record deal. Well I have learned that I would rather people listen to my music for free than nobody hear it at all. As for mistakes, there are loads, just listen to the songs! ;-) but that’s OK. By putting the songs up here, listening to them in context and receiving feedback from people I can improve them. In fact several of the songs already published have been modified to varying degrees.

Tim Ferriss, the author of The Four Hour Work Week coined the phrase, "Ready, Fire, Aim". That sums up my point really.

Those That Never Made a Mistake Never Made Nothin’.
Basically a way of saying, if you never try anything, you will never achieve anything that you want. The wise woman mentioned in this song is my grandmother. She said this in passing the day before I left my home country to embark on a new life and I think the conversation got round to whether or not things would work out. She may not have realised it as she said it, but it really struck a chord with me and gave me some inspiration. Thanks Nan, that made a difference!

Enjoy!
