Put Your Ego in its Place
This song is about making a clear statement of intent to my ego. The point being, no longer prepared to accept being on the receiving end of its automatic behavior and keeping me experiencing the same kind of results over and over again.
There is a well-known saying that insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting a different outcome. In this context living at the mercy of the ego when you know its game could be looked at as insane, but many of us do it because it has such a strong hold and it is doing all it can do for its own survival that you have to play hard to live outside of its spell.
There’s nothing evil about the ego. There’s no need to disown it, but realize that it is very keen on running the show for you because it has become very comfortable with the way things are. If you want to break through into a new level in your life, you have to strike a deal with your ego and make it very clear that it is not running the show, your true self is. Your heart.
So I’m changing the game. How about you?
