What is it that causes much suffering? It is attachment to something or someone and the fear of losing it causes us to experience less than 100% of the joy and fulfillment of having that situation or person in our lives and when we finally part with it.
The truth is that it is so common to grip tightly to something, believing that this is the way to keep and control it, but that very approach is what pushes it further away. When a relationship ends for instance all the fears and pre-emptive feelings we had during that relationship are made real, so we get to be right about how we have been dealt a hard blow and that life is so painful.
We say things like "My life will never be the same again". Well that part is absolutely right because the truth is that every morning you wake up your life will never be the same as it was when you went to sleep. In fact in every moment that passes your life will never be the same. It is how existence is.
Life is one brand-new moment and potentially one brand-new you after another, meaning that there is never a moment that you can’t choose to create your life differently to the way you did in the moments before it; the way you want it to be. It means that you can feel the best you can in any moment dependent on what thoughts you choose to focus and act upon.
Don’t Fear Losing
Do you want to lose? If not then you have to live without fear of losing. Nothing actually belongs to you anyway, so fearing losing anything is like praying for having those experiences that mean a lot to you to be taken away. I’ve lost count of the things now that have remained in my life or come back better, stronger and more fulfilling and joyful after I let them go and focused on growing as a person. I’m not sure exactly how it all works, but I can tell you it does.
The fact that you will never be the same person as you were in the moment before is to be embraced and acknowledged. If you remain exactly the same then you are not conscious, you are not living and then how can you truly enjoy the things and the people you have and wish to keep in your life?
This song needs some work. Vocal harmonies and possibly some attention to the arrangement. I can’t decide if this song is clever in the way it transforms or if it is unsure of what kind of song it wants to be. What do you think?
Enjoy!

Stop trying so hard to explain life and live. Sing a story or paint a picture with words. You know how they say a picture is worth a thousand words well make a song worth a thousand pictures. Or something like that I really don't know.
This year I am turning my life around no more wasting precious time on non productive things.
Hi Keenan,
What do you do? Do you write, make music… What? I'd love to know a little bit bit more about who you are and what you do.
I agree with your sentiments, but nothing I write is meant as a lecture on how life is, its just a suggestion. In fact I'm glad it has caused a reaction. It means I didn't waste my time writing it.
I also believe that much of what a song or article invokes in the listener/reader is to do with him/her and how they interpret it.
This is just my expression of life as I experience it. Maybe that'll change, get richer, more interesting… whatever, but then I suppose that depends on who's listening/reading really.
Thanks for the comment.
I don't do anything at all really. The past year of my life has been spent in a cave pretty much. I'm trying to get my life back on track and finish school so I can get a gas station job and go from there. I will probably try out guitar and writing music at some point in time. Traveling is another thing I would like to do. Id also like to help clean up the planet. I'm a HUGE loner and all my friends have moved away or abandoned me. Today I cleaned all the crap out of my closet got rid of everything I don't need washed my clothes and scrapped the 4 pages of math I got done since December because they were messy and I was doing allot of it wrong and rushed. Now I'm going to take my time to read through it and do the questions properly eat right and drink lots of water then relax at the end of the day. I'm all set and ready to get things done.
