WSC Song 031 Big Mind Big Heart

This song really gives me a lift. It originally popped into my head while I was zipping along on my Honda Airblade and by the time I got home I had forgotten most of it. However with some intent it came back to me and the rest of the words came as I recorded it, which is pretty normal for me these days. I like the fact you get to hear all these songs as they come into being, which is great because you can observe if and how they have evolved by the time I record the fully produced version

I got to use my new Thai drum, known as a khlong yao and it sounds pretty good. It cost me 199 baht and I think it was a bit of a bargain!

The subject matter of this song is inspired by a process devised by a Zen Master by the name of Genpo Roshi. Big Mind, Big Heart is quite a remarkable transformative process. Here is a really great description of Big Mind, Big Heart by Ken Wilbur.

Regardless of all the above however, I do find this song to have an uplifting feeling to it. I’m very pleased with it.

Big Mind Big Heart

I have not had the opportunity to attend any of the Big Mind, Big Heart workshops, but I have a DVD of such a workshop, which I watched, undisturbed for about 2 hours and I have to say I had quite a profound experience just watching that. I have to say thanks to Zen Master Genpo Roshi.

Enjoy!

yep – a nice bit of uplift – the musical equivalent of an underwire bra. Groovy percussion sounds too.

Just as well – got Armageddon on in the background and it’s all going wrong – Steve Buschemi has just got Space Dementia and started shooting everyone.
