Ko Bidda

This song has some personal significance, so please excuse the self inulgence!
Ko Bidda is a place in The Andaman Sea in Thailand. Two large rocks to be precise: Ko Bidda Noi & Ko Bidda Nok. I nearly died in those waters, but if I had not experienced what I did there I would not have the amazing woman in my life that I do now.
So I suppose, to be optimistic, you could say that there are no such things as “Bad†experiences, only lessons to be learned if you are willing & ready to see them.
I re-visited that place nearly two years after the Boxing Day Tsunami with my girlfriend and I had a very strong jolt of emotion, which is what evoked the lyrics in the chorus.
The only thing I could think of was “Thank Youâ€.
Ko Bidda - The place where my life & in fact my personality really did change completely and for the better in my opinion, although it took me a few years to start to see it.
Its hard to know how to comment on this one as its clearly very personal – so i’ll stick to the music. A real nice tune – keeps catching me out – it doesn’t go where you expect. I listened to it before reading the blog and thought “who’s the woman you’re seeing in your missus’ eyes you swine?â€
Strayed off the music there, didn’t I. Great song.
