The other day I decided I wanted to lighten up a little. I’m not what you would call a naturally funny guy, unless I make people laugh unintentionally maybe. You could say I take things a little seriously much of the time, but I am very aware of the fact that life should be about joy as much as you can make it so.
It is with this desire I chose to do a more light-hearted song this week, inspired to write a humorous song by listening to a superb songwriter from the UK called Ben Walker. Check him out… after you have listened to my song!
… By the way this guy has just written the most ingenious song about the phenomenon of social networking on the internet called "You’re No-one if You’re not on Twitter". Here is an interesting update on Ben’s Twitter song as of 25th August
I never even think about writing songs like this normally, so I feel good that I did actually manage this with as much free flowing smoothness as my normal writing style. I hope this means I am improving as a songwriter, so I can keep surprising and entertaining you all.
Here in Thailand it seems to be a custom to drink beer with ice in it. Of course the first time I saw this I thought it was crazy. After all I am from the UK and we all know how much people from the UK like to drink, especially the girls these days! Anyway I tried it and now I seem to have developed a taste for it. Maybe it’s because it’s the only way to keep it cold enough during the day when it can be so hot, especially sitting at a bar by the beach.
Of course I hardly ever do such a lazy thing myself
, but I do find myself justifying the practice of drinking beer with ice to myself a lot and it has become a habit, but what the heck anyway!
The truth is that I don’t always drink beer with ice, but I do drink it and I like it and I just don’t give one if you judge me for it!
Whatever your poison…
Enjoy!

nothing wrong with shandy (especially of the hand variety.)
a bit of a departure eh? its refreshing to hear a light hearted tune although i normally prefer my tunes serious and my beer tepid.
reminds me of an inferior song i wrote a while ago – a sort of lament of a pathetic bit of fast food who dreamed of being served in a gourmet restaurant.
You must play that one to me sometime. I’d like to hear you doing a novelty song.
